EEUU Revela la Detención en Texas de Padre e Hijo, Cuando Traficaban al Menos 400 Armas con Destino a México

El embajador estadounidense Ronald Johnson felicitó el trabajo fronterizo bilateral luego de la detención de los presuntos responsables

El embajador de Estados Unidos en México, Ronald Johnson, felicitó al trabajo bilateral de seguridad tras el aseguramiento de 400 armas que presuntamente serían ingresadas a México.

De acuerdo con una publicación realizada en redes sociales, el diplomático mencionó que durante la operación por parte de las autoridades estadounidenses se logró la detención de los presuntos responsables.

“Armas que no llegarán a manos criminales. Seguridad compartida en acción. Entregando resultados”, se lee en la públicación.

De acuerdo con medios locales, el pasado jueves los presuntos traficantes intentaban ingresar por el Puente Internacional 2 en Laredo, Texas, el arsenal con dirección a México.

Asimismo, agentes de Investigación de Seguridad Nacional (HSI por sus siglas en inglés) pertenecientes al Servicio de Migración y Control de Aduanas (ICE, en inglés), arrestaron a un padre y aun hijo quienes ocultaron 400 armas en dos remolques.

Los conductores fueron identificados como Emilio Ramírez-Cortez, quien se residía de manera irregular en Estados Unidos y su hijo Edgar Ramírez-Díaz, ciudadano estadounidense.

Los detenidos, el arsenal y los dos vehículos en los que viajaban fueron trasladados ante las autoridades correspondientes quien determinara su situación jurídica.
